Rock guitarist Gary Moore dies in Spain

The renowned rock guitarist Gary Moore has died

Gary Moore, 58, was, originally from Belfast, and was a former member of the legendary Irish group Thin Lizzy.

Moore played with Thin Lizzy for several periods and had a string of top 40 hits in the 1970s and 1980s

The most enduring track ever recorded with Thin Lizzy was “Still In Love With You". Even today, that remains a favorite.


Adam Parsons, who manages Thin Lizzy, told the BBC that Gary Moore had died in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Former Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore has been found dead in his luxury hotel room in the Costa del Sol in the early hours of this morning.

A postmortem is due to be carried out later in nearby Malaga.

Gary Moore was originally drafted into Thin Lizzy by its singer Phil Lynott. He later gained acclaim for his solo work and was a former member of the Irish group Skid Row.
